Instead of paying each other back with money, my friends and I exchange crafts, lessons, car rides and meals to repay one another. I find that the things I have received in exchange have always felt more worthwhile and useful in the long run :)
i love making trades... most recently swapped a vintage leather blazer for tattoo credit but i have also exchanged teaching a workshop for hard-to-get art materials and a keychain for a little gold swallow pin. it imbues whatever i receive with a little extra significance 🩷
Money is overrated. Lets TRADE!!! Just like pokemon cards. I forget too often how much I love bartering then I remember and get filled with such joy. someone gives you a ride? Forget money. give them their favorite candy. Bake them some cookies. Wanna spend nothing? Draw them something cute. use your skills!! take them to the park!!
I love bartering 🫶🫶🫶
why yes I will bake you a homemade foccacia for sharpening my kitchen knives
a pound bag of coffee beans I got free from work in exchange for tuning up my bike.. yes please
the circular economy my friends n I have created xx (idk what circular economy is but it sounds right)
Last night I spent 5 hours with my friends in my living room instead of doing my work, and at first I thought “wow I was not productive tonight,” but then I realized that hanging out with friends and letting my mind rest is incredibly productive!! I feel so refreshed this morning
I’ve recently begun to think I’m extremely beautiful, something I’ve never consistently thought about myself. It feels so silly, and I’m sometimes baffled by it, but I’m also enjoying it a lot.
How lucky am I that I actually miss school when I’m at home, and miss home when I’m at school??? Being able to miss something, to look forward to returning, is such a privilege, and I will never take it for granted
