Had the choice to buy a car with automatic transmission (which would have been the easier, comfortable option since I've only ever driven this type of car) or a manual one. Chose the option that made my life a little more difficult but I taught myself how to drive it and just drove myself to work for the first time today. The amount of pride and accomplishment I felt was so worth the hassle. GET OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!

The only way to learn to drive stick is to drive stick! Congratulations on taking the difficult option and succeeding! Now that I think about it, learning to drive a manual is a great example of a growth mindset. I remember after doing it every day for a month I realized I didnโ€™t have to think about it anymore. Every mistake teaches something and the feedback is immediate. I still avoid steep hills, though, 24 years later!

Idk where you can learn this these days but I recommend it if you have access to a manual car. Itโ€˜s sexy and fun and you feel like youโ€™re more in tune with the car or truck.

Buy it and drive it like it owes you money. Learn to work on it, how to diagnose things. Do it.

I went back to my parents' place for the holidays. I went through all the stuff I left there when I moved away for college and I found this forgotten treasure box from my childhood that I hadn't seen in probably like 10 years. I kept so many little objects when I was a child ( keychains, seashells, antique nails me and my brother found one day when digging in the backyard, my baby teeth, a franc coin, a drawing my sister made...) and each of them brought me back to a memory of my childhood and it made me so emotional and grateful to my younger self who was like "yes, future me will definitely need to see these." Now I'm thinking why do we stop doing that as adults ?? I want to have my 20s treasure box full of random seemingly meaningless stuff that I can find and look into when I'm old!! And why not do one for every decade?? Will update if I start doing this - on a mission to find a cool box .

Hate it when i'm made to leave a beautiful sunset spot before the end. Don't half-ass it and stay until the end . especially if it is as good as this one (location: San Jose del Pacifico, Oaxaca, Mexico)
