Grave of tHe fireflies (1988)

i read the entire wikipedia page of the movie before watching it so i wouldn't get hit by the ending, but it didn't prevent me for weeping and getting devastated. plus, i watched it few weeks after my aunt passed away.
so... ghibli animations are gorgeous, but never again with grave of the fireflies

GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES (1988)

Okay, to say I ”liked” it would only be a half truth. I guess I liked how emotionally impactful it was for me, as well as the (studio Ghibli, so, expectedly) incredible animation. But man, was it a tough watch! It is so different to any other anime film I had watched up until that point. So raw and graphic and tender.

There’s a scene in this where the animation breaks with the emotion of the character and it takes my breath away every time.

ITS EXAM SEASON

I am FEARING for my life. The faculty have to be on something. Who sets this horrible time table. I am facing HORRORS. Every semester i tell myself, "surely it can't get worse than this" and it's like God himself takes this statement as a personal challenge. Pray for me 🩷
