fall down the rabbit hole of an old 90s/early aughts dvd on YouTube for a unique pleasure. the essays on criterion blu-rays are fine and well, but the ol’ fashioned poster galleries, “how to draw”, and the like on, say, the Anastasia dvd remind you of a specific splendor: when dvd menus blared as soon as the film was over and you had to scurry to find the mute button

Watched this last night while slurping ramen over my couch and it was a 10/10 experience. This docu about a video store in NYC and this obsessive guy following the movies all the way to Sicily just make for an inspirational story of love for the art in the time of digital cholera.

super in depth 84 minute category by category breakdown of a really interesting year for the oscars. there are lots of really interesting parallels to 80s going on with our current landscape! there are tons of youtube channels these days that do feature length mini-docs on various niche subjects, but All Talking Pictures really stands out as uniquely knowledgable and opinionated. the perfect background video for chores, hw, etc.

The superstition is this: on the first day of the month, one is supposed to say “Rabbit, rabbit” to ensure a month of good luck. I adore this superstition, like making a circle of protective salt around you for the entire 28, 30, or 31 days of a month. in theory, it’s supposed to be the first words you utter on that 1st day, but I make my life easier by just making sure I say it at some point during the day. I love superstitions, but I like also throwing in a bit of my own luck in there. So say “rabbit, rabbit,” why don’t ya? I’ll say it several extra times in honor of those who read this a little later on.

Yes I work in a cemetery. My favorite part is saying hello to the graves. Judy Garland, Johnny Ramone, Rudolph Valentino, Pee-wee Herman. Honestly, it’s a sweet tribute being around them. I make it a point to visit cemeteries in most cities I visit, but this one holds a special place in my heart. It’s one of my top two.

Well I guess I’m my mother’s child because I now have a candle I never plan on burning. It feels so defiant. The fairy candle is my friend now. I will age, but she will not
