I think the PI community would agree with me when it comes to being an āoutfit repeater ā.
With all the social media posts and fashion " influencers " we tend to forget that the Normal way to dress up is actually to be an āoutfit repeaterā.
Clothes were made to be worn more than one time and to actually be around more than just a trend period.
For example, The average lifespan of jeans is between 2 to 5 years.
And for any type of clothes the average lifespan is 3 years.
And the washing machines are made for a purpose right ? Which is cleaning the clothes in order to wear them again.
I mean, if you have enough money to afford following trends and you are patient about it then definitely do it ! I am more talking about those who āshameā others for being an outfit repeater.
Letās just keep in mind that one piece can actually āmarryā many other pieces and not made for just one specific outfit.
the fact that many of us (me included) have closets so expansive that we could avoid repeats for several weeks is actually quite troubling and shows how capitalism habituates us into defining ourselves as consumers. and itās not just practical and sustainable to repeat your outfits, itās also how you season the clothes, elevating the outfitās contents to something more than possessions or garments. anyway, here's what i've been wearing over and over again
I think itās more normal than never wearing the same thing twice. It shows your personal sense of style and if youāre comfortable then youāre going to look better anyway. I also think with online culture now is the first time ever people would consider it weird to be caught on film in the same outfit multiple times. Plus if itās a good fit then itād be a shame to not let people see it often.
I love being an outfit repeater. I love when my clothes start to feel roomy & slouchy. I love when I notice the fabric color fading. I love when my jeans fray & the denim starts to break open on the knees. I love it when my clothes show that iāve lived.
I canāt find the Creator and i am mad about it because i wanna credit the one who made sure to put this for free.
Iāve found this website RetroPrint where they show the details of how you can make a Windows 95 customised theme on your phone (with over 800 icons app to choose from 27 of them are already made for the modern apps like netflix twitter etc - some graphics for the widgets too And 3 sounds.)
The fact that i can stay in bed warm with my phone or laptop and music in the background as i watch my favourite movies/series/youtube vids with a warm tea is simple enough to make me grateful for wherever i am today.
Worrying about what I should wear to work is a beautiful thing because itās a privilege that sadly some people canāt afford :(
Complaining about to cook is a beautiful thing because someone somewhere sadly canāt even afford/have access to a simple bread piece.
Literally feeling the warmth of the sun while standing waiting for the bus is a beautiful thing to cherish and be grateful for.
If there is one style that literally calms me is stippling.
The endless dots, the slow process, the nuance effect, the final results.
I just love it and appreciate it even more when i spend hours/days to finish one.
