I don’t know if it’s “good” but it‘s turbo insane and heavy-handed and corny in a way that evoked more feelings within me than anything else I saw last year
good bad: repo the genetic opera. the actual movie is amazing and funny with a great soundtrack, but it is pretty strange and relatively low budget
bad good: the neon demon (this is a hot take). it tries too hard to be ‘art house’ horror and falls flat for me. just really boring
this movie is def in the category of so bad it’s good. the plot is sort of convoluted and the villain is pretty one dimensional and cheesy, but the climactic scene is actually pretty good and the set pieces are great
I have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning, so I like to watch these very soothing videos of people across the globe waking up at like 5 a.m. to make homemade bread and soup and listen to the birds. No dialogue, no influencer-voice, just thoughtful little captions. Choki is the OG.
I regretfully admit I was a Caroline Polachek hater until the second I heard this nonchalantly spoken line while the camera pans down the high school hallway in I Saw the TV Glow
I love the look of Suzzallo at the UW, but Maple Valley’s woodsy library feels like it was made intentionally for its community, unlike Suzzallo, which kinda feels intentionally intimidating, not to mention cold.
