Worn in clothing
I feel like well worn clothing is the way to go. It seems to mold to your body when you beat it up a little. Never been a preppy type, so most of my clothing has been through the wringer. You’re more approachable too. There has been numerous times where people commented on a piece of clothing I was wearing, and I had a story to tell about that piece. Good for that too, you always have something to keep a conversation going.

100% ! A pair of stiff jeans growing softer with every wear and thinning around the knees is quite literally the best. And if you wear a hole in them, start mending! Simple iron-on or sewn patches are great, but if you have the time or patience, learning visible mending and sashiko embroidery is the move! I’ve fixed up lots of worn jeans, sweaters, and more doing this, and the amount of comments I get is always so nice. Worn clothing for the win

embracing fashion that looks worn
my coworkers say my orange telfar medium sized bag has kind of become a signature of mine. which is neat! but its covered in scuff marks and ink stains and has a misshapen bottom. here’s the thing though: i honestly love the bag more as it looks more worn. it has a story that’s intertwined with my own story. being put together and clean and neat and polished is fun (trust me, im a virgo). but the people in life who compel me the most are those who look rooted in their essence and can tell a story about everything they’ve got on. someone with their own unique swag that they have curated over time. tell me about the scuff mark on your boots. or your lucky necklace with three stones missing. or the flowers you painted on your jeans that are now fading. i live for it!

Wearing the same outfits
I love being an outfit repeater. I love when my clothes start to feel roomy & slouchy. I love when I notice the fabric color fading. I love when my jeans fray & the denim starts to break open on the knees. I love it when my clothes show that i’ve lived.

Hearing someone laugh from another room
I have no context at all but I love it. Feels like I’m missing out but that’s alright it’s just good to hear somebody having a big ol belly laugh and enjoying this shit while we’re breathing.
