Feminine take on time travel with a dash of mystery. There are a lot characters across multiple time periods so it can get confusing, but the main ones are pretty intriguing. One of those books where I was flipping back and forth constantly as the pieces were coming together.
• the two characters are from different time periods/timelines
• one of them is a ghost
• one of them is supposed to be fictional but is somehow real
I want to build a master list of content like this but some favorite examples so far include: • Somewhere in Time (1980)
• The Lake House (2006)
• Love Across Time (2024)
• any of those books/movies where a modern-day woman gets sucked into a regency era novel/time period and falls for a Mr Darcy archetype
• Casper
• Outlander (sorta, I have a soapbox about this series but I do love the premise)
SUCH a wild ride, we’ve got an affair, a celeb psychic medium, an inter-dimensional cloud of ancestral grief, a failing marriage (and a pregnancy), the Russian Revolution, generational trauma, Soviet orphanages, and at least three questionable women —I feel like this is a superb book for the Moshfegh, batuman, emma cline, Mona Awad crowds
