This is really the worst, but I find that if I just sit down and force myself to do it, I always come up with something that I can at very least use as an outline. i write music, so even just banging out a melody or a chord progression and working off of that usually gets me somewhere and inspired. Also digesting outside content of what you are trying to create. Seeing live music always makes me want to bust out my guitar 😎 🎸 good luck!

When I'm stuck or seem to lack motivation, I often force myself to start putting words on paper.
I just grab a notebook — not a digital device, gotta eliminate escapes and distractions — and start writing. Even if it it begins with "I don't know what the hell to write," at least I'm writing.
Eventually it goes somewhere.

if you’re ever stuck, just write anything. If the lines don’t make sense together, that’s great. If it sounds nothing like what you’d normally write, great! If it’s not very good, great. just see where your fingers fall on the guitar or piano, or where your wandering mind takes the melody and lyrics and finish whatever crap you’ve just come up with. Finish it in 20 minutes knowing you might not show it to anyone.
Sometimes you might end up finding a cool melody, lines or chord sequence that you fuck with, sometimes you won’t. But working from something’s better than nothing. You could sample it, repurpose it, trash it but you’ve got something tangible in front of you.

Recently, I haven't been feeling inspired to make music or play my instruments, idk why, rough few weeks ig. And as you might have seen, I also haven't been inspired to write some recs.
Erich Fromm once wrote that an artist must have knowledge in their field, and that they have to create, despite not having the right tools/object of creation, because if a painter spends years waiting for the perfect muse, when they find it, their skill won't be enough. This was an analogy to love, but I think it also applies as what it is at face value. If you don't create, you won't get to know what you like, to love the world through your art, and even if you find the perfect idea for a song, painting, etc. You might not be able to make it without that knowledge

I am somewhat of a sandwich fiend. Tuna, turkey club, you name it. I will say I always prefer a cold sandwich over a hot one, but life is good and I like change so if it’s front of me, I will definitely eat it. Today a pb&j just randomly called out to me. a strong urge if you will. So here I am with my sandwich, enjoying every bite.
