ok 2024 was freaky, but i loved it cause it about sm more than just monster romance even if so many people wanna label it as such. theres countless motifs to art history and all classic gothic literature (mainly cause duh vampires are the epitome of gothic romance and literature). but watch this video, i am watching it at work rn they’ve got their evidence.

i don’t think i will ever get over this movie. i’ve already seen it twice in theatres and i cried and was scared and was full of joy. i love gothic horror more than anything else. i love beautiful visuals and some weird little fucked up things happening. i love having the ability to think critically and analyze movies, especially ones with such powerful themes and amazing metaphors/representations like this one. eggers you will always be famous

the production of it was so incredible…it made me feel like i was actually in that timeline and setting. aesthetic was perfectionnnn. the actors really succeeded at making it so eerie yet Sexy..like it is an inherently sexy movie

stoker, the beguiled (2017), suspiria (1977), the witch, sleepy hollow, nosferatu: a symphony of horror, nosferatu the vampyre, pans labyrinth, the others, rosemary's baby, the others, the love witch, jane eyre (2011), a girl walks home alone at night, neon demon, the hunger (1983), the haunting of julia / full circle. these are all varying degrees of gothic and horror. some are set more within a contemporary sphere that encapsulates less of the gothic horror but feel somewhat aligned - such as the love witch & neon demon.

my first time learning and experimenting with the silk screen process it’s really fun, missed the print shop alot. i wanted to experiment with delicate materials and was just figuring out the limitations of silk screen. the nip was to play with the ideas of sexualizes/fetiziation of objects that aren’t inherently those things. anyyyyways, this was cool and it’s a little shiny too and that is epic :3
