I'll be turning ancient - errr that's like older than 3-0 in our age-obsessed society.
(Side note: I do however like the Dutch word: Anciƫnniteit - means seniority in experience rather than age). ANYWAYS. You are not only ALLOWED to accept, to love but also LIKE yourself! Cor! what a novel idea!
They have wisdom and dark humor and facts of life to bestow upon us and I think for the most part they deserve a more triumphant-sounding title in society that reflects that. I met a 70 year old woman today who wants to get a shoulder tattoo of Van Goghās sunflowers. She said, āwell, my husband died in May so heās not around to tell me not to!ā and proceeded to laugh heartily and mischievously. She is, I am sure, still hurting and grieving inside, but it also seems that she is proudly living for herself and doing what she wants to do, and I could sense a certain liberation in her voice that I think Iām still too young to understand the full breadth of. To reach that age and make peace with loss and to continue to choose to live a fulfilling life for yourself feels very powerful to me. I think seeking more for yourself in general is a way to age gracefully. It is about the spirit! The way that you wear your soul!
I like being 29. I've settled into being an adult a bit more. I like making my own choices and feeling confident about it. Can't wait to be an old crone someday. I'm gonna sit in a rocking chair outside my home and heckle passersby and be eccentric af
I took this picture at a party last weekend because I was washing my hands and thought āwow, I look beautiful !āĀ Ā And that thought didnāt come because I looked 10 years younger than I actually am, or that my skin was perfect. It was because I was surrounded by people I love and that love me and I was shining. I love that I can see every past version of myself in my face. I love that you can see all Iāve lived through. Aging is a gift and I wonāt take it for granted!! As per usual Iāll probably delete this picture by tomorrow because I enjoy being perceived as an immortal wizard. Feels true.
Python!
Honestly very hard for me to get into - I have ZERO coding knowledge and nothing I could really latch onto - knowledge transfer is how I learn. But https://futurecoder.io/ is great (after lots of Redditing)
The puffin is the latest addition to more than 180 known speciesāmany of them sharks, corals, and other marine animalsāthat emit a luminous glow.
The fact that so many marine animals biofluoresce "tells us organisms are using light in ways we don't even see,"Ā John Sparks, curator of fishes at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
