i’ve revisited this album since my middle/ highschool days and with the recent appreciation for mid 2000s music/ culture (indie sleaze whatever), tick, clap + boom beats in underground rap of the time seemed pretty permeating … we should bring it back. it was hot
if one record could sum up 1984, it could be this one. massive synths and drum machines going on here - and the real star of the show is the synth bass. endless crispy grooves that make you feel like the main character in a movie walking down some wet streets at night…
