"What Artists Wear" by Charlie Porter

I haven't actually received my copy of this book yet, but Charlie is one of my favorite writers so I feel safe endorsing this. Charlie used to write at the Guardian and FT (among other places) but stepped back a bit ago to write this book on well, what artists wear. I've missed his writing (seriously, go back and read some of his old stuff, which zooms with zest and clarity) and so I'm really looking forward to receiving this. It is currently only in print in the UK, but I bought it from a store over there that shipped (for free!) to America.

john berger - ways of seeing

really thought-provoking, short, insightful, digestible book about art, culture, 'taste', truth, etc
and it has pictures!
i first saw the quote below years ago and have been wanting to read the book ever since and it has not disapointed
would highly rec if you want to read essays about art that are grounded, critical and accessible

The Andy Warhol Diaries & Fiorucci: The Book by Eve Babitz

I always pull inspiration from these books. I love reading Andy’s escapades and the graphic presentation of Babitz words in the original Fiorucci book.
