i first heard this poem through an interpolated reading of the first stanza in the song 'Exit Scott (interlude)' by Solange. it is truly one of the most beautiful expressions of love and adoration i have ever read. i often think about these lines: 'If it were possible to place you in my brain, to let you roam around in and out my thought waves - you would never have to ask - why do you love me?'

it seeps into your lungs like warm cider, it seems to warm your insides entirely. always show those you love the entirety of your compassion and kindness. they exist in the little words and the little objects. they exist within the creases of your palm, they reflect back into you

I return to this poem every 3 months or so, in the same way you put on an old favorite song that you woke up with stuck in your head and you’ve got to listen to it just to enjoy it all over again. I circle back to this poem always. I think my favorite lines are: why shouldn’t something I have always known be the very best there is. I love you from my childhood,

GOSH. This song is so beautiful and lovely. It makes me think of being held by someone dear to me, feeling the warmth of their body engulf me.

do you like concept albums? music that explores the complexity of humanness? do you want to cry and cry until you're purged of all emotion? if any, or all of these apply to you, LISTEN TO THE ALBUM HOSPICE RIGHT NOW!! one of my favourite songs on the album is 'Bear', and I would recommend that you listen to it if you wanna get a feel for what the album is like rather than diving into headfirst.
