Picking up a hobby that doesn’t revolve around content creation and documentation. it can still involve media consumption but documentation i believe stops my creativity and my will to continue freely dead in its tracks. And for what? so others will know?
thinking about that tweet that said something like “find hobbies outside media consumption” and i disagree!! whenever i watch a movie or read a book it feels like a productive way to expand my mind! even if i watch something shitty i can have fun and critique it at the same time. seeing art (good and bad) as merely “content” is a mindless consumer take.
in tight contention for my #1 favorite physical activity, especially when your willing participant has a good ratio of scalp scratching and head squeezing to hair twirling. Can even outrank sex on a good day.
