i really liked Giovanni's Room... i think we all had that lover that we kept quiet in a room somewhere. maybe if the world knew of this love it would become tainted in a way. the vulnerability of this short but sweet book. if you have to hide your love ~ is it love?

Short and enthralling, with prose that is both breezy and profound and a simple yet confounding story. It’s like a snapshot of someone’s heart. I think the scenery and emotion of this book brought about a natural and gorgeous visualization of the story, which is wonderful to experience.
I’m not sure how accurate this is to what you’re looking for, but Giovanni’s room definitely has an atmosphere of heartbreaking romance, jazzy, floaty summers and swooning emotion 🫶🏽
