I was in Montreal a few years ago and when walking downtown me and a friend saw a sign for the exhibit and decided to check it out, mostly to get out of the snow. We ended up staying for almost two hours looking at the different Barbies! If you like art or fashion you have to go. They have so many dolls from all over the world, it was so fun to see the different historical fashions and also Barbie versions of well known icons.

I’m obsessed with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and visit anytime I’m in the city. It’s multiple buildings all connected underground. I’ve spent 8 hours in there without realizing it. *I was born in Toronto and go to school in Toronto and I love so much about this city…BUT none of our museums compare to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in my opinion*

Check out the hottest club in New York (Toronto)! It has everything: mini ivory statues of biblical scenes from 9th century Europe, a mirror installation from a Japanese artist whose name I forgot, remembrandt paintings, Afro Caribbean sculptures that wear gold air jordans, and paintings from loud of indigenous artists that made me feel alive again. And best of all? Free entrance if you have their youth annual pass for people between the ages of 14-24 baby!!

There’s so many out there. I’ve been to the ice cream one in Chicago (it might be gone now?? I’m pretty sure it was a pop up) and a sock monkey one about an hour deep into suburbs. I think they’re so fun and a nice day trip with friends!

One of my closest and oldest friends I have known since we were in elementary school is Indian. We would usually hang out at her house and one of the meals her mom made a lot was dal. I was always so excited to eat at her place, her mom would make us up plates and would always offer extras and I always felt so loved. Anytime I have dal I feel so warm inside and comforted like a child. My relationship with my friend and her family is still so strong despite not seeing each other often. Indian food of any kind (whether its homemade, store bought, or from a restaurant) remains my main comfort meal, but nothing compares to her mothers cooking and the conversations we would have while eating 🫶
