think back to a topic or a person thats inspired you but you don’t know enough about… and dig into that. I’ve always felt drawn to Jane Jacobs and during a recent time of aimlessness I read, watched, and listened to everything I could about her so I could really bring her spirit into my headspace

maintenance phase: aubrey gordon and michael hobbes debunk diet culture myths and dunk on bigots/liars/wellness culture moguls. i love aubrey's laugh it lights up my heart!! if books could kill: michael hobbes and peter shamshiri tear apart airplane bookstore bestsellers. love this one as an english major bc they shit on unfounded or cherry picked research that was manipulated for the sake of profit and bias confirmation we can do hard things: yes it is very millenial and genx coded but it reminds me of my mom in that way. i think listening to older women who have been where i am is so healing. glennon doyle and co. bring on so many beautiful guests (my faves are sonya renee taylor and tricia hersey!!). teaches me so much about love, relationships, communication, embodiment, and authenticity!! pulling the thread: elise loehnen (whose recent book i LOVE) has conversations with authors, mystics, spiritual leaders, and academics about their theories and writing. i have learned so much about myself and the universe listening to these conversations!! very much stimulates my curiosity

I recently saw the Martha documentary on Netflix and it felt like a piece being placed in the puzzle of my life. When I was a child, my parents moved from New York City to Connecticut, which was a huge culture shock. I was used to always having something to do, and the city had been a remedy for boredom and restlessness. In contrast, Connecticut felt quiet and unfamiliar. I found myself in the pages of my mom’s Martha Stewart Living collection. At the time, I didn’t really see Martha as a real person—she was like a fairy godmother. Whenever I felt anxious, I would immerse myself in her perfect world. I made ladybugs out of chocolate and strawberries, crafted a homemade swamp monster costume from dried moss and fishing nets, built birdhouses with my neighbors wine corks, grew an herb garden in our kitchen. In those moments, I felt whole. I found a quiet rhythm, a sense of calm and creativity, where every detail of the home and garden offered a gentle escape.

She’s such a baddie. Every time I read her I’m inspired. she’s so sharp and incisive. No matter is she’s talking about art or feminsim or even theology, she brings a certain flavor. I’ll always recommend.

WHY did we stop playing Wii Sports???? Why did technology continue to evolve after the perfect tech was created?? Its as fun (if not more fun) than you remember. It's so SIMPLE yet intuitive and allows you to actually feel present. To play a game without hyperrealistic graphics and unnecessary social aspects is BLISS. Wii Tennis the best thing in the world. I hope they bring it back for sale without modernizing one single thing.

please remove it so you don’t look like a secret agent at a wedding. If you don’t track your steps or have your emails on your wrists for a few hours you’ll be fine I promise!!!

If you’re a proud New Yorker (or reside in a big city), this poem will probably make you feel seen. One of the reasons that I love city life is all the signs that people aren’t regretting life.
