They are covered in chemicals, their carbon footprint is outrageous, and most importantly, the women who grow, harvest and ship these roses are living with diseases caused by the pesticides used.
Find some paper and a pen, and write how you feel instead of “saying it with flowers”.
This is coming from a florist who works exclusively with local and seasonal flowers. I made this from my garden this morning.
Tried them once at a random Vietnamese restaurant in my city. Later I saw the exact same ones sold at a regular supermarket! Now I can enjoy them anytime I want!!! The restaurant was nice, still :) But nothing like eating a 6 pack of mochis at home in one sitting, right?
Anytime I want to listen to something and actually feel like I've gained some knowledge (*cough* when I'm not in the mood for true crime *cough*) I always go back to "[IN] pertinente" by Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation. What they do is basically a normal and very acessible conversation between 1 expert on a subject (Economy, Politics, Society and Science) and a "regular" person (a communicator from portuguese media). My favorite are the science episodes, but when it comes to Politics they have been touching on some really important matters (iykyk). If you speak portuguese, I would recommend you give it a try :)
