yum yum yummy. Whether or not the show is good or not, the lighting never disappoints. I can see the most bland, boring, i-movie, stock music esque performances, and still be enchanted by the magic that is lighting engineers at the Sydney Opera House. On that note - with all respect to Max Richter and his career, his music was simply accompanying the thoughts of the crowd, and the silent conversations being had in oneās head about how they could later brag to their co-workers about how much they enjoy classical music. I am astounded by his success, and am glad he found an audience for his endless arpeggios, 4 chords and ambient piano, but if i had added a trap beat, it would have ended up on a ā10 hour study lofi beatsā playlist 5 years ago.
very soundtrack very nice š and you canāt really go wrong with Satie, Debussy, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff⦠honestly if you have an apple music subscription, there is a whole other app dedicated to classical music!! but if not youtube will have everything you could ever ask for especially with live performances :)
I got Apple Music classical recently. absolutely love it. If youāre reading this and havenāt taken the classical-pill yet, you have to give it a try. It has all the calming space out lock in effects of ambient musicā but if you care to really tune into the music itself itās astonishing how beautiful it can be. Growing up, I thought it was music for the diaperprolesā babies & senior citizens. I was so wrong. Such grace, such clarity, such overwhelming force, such tenderness, such vehement, electrifying ENERGY all expressed completely wordlessly. By a means that surpasses words. Wordcelsisters, we never stood a chance⦠Iāve been on a huge Russians kick currently. Prokofiev, Rachmoninov, Stravinsky, Scriabin, Tvhaikovsky. Some pieces that Iāve really been enjoying recently, in no particular order: Schumannās piano concerto in A minor performed by Marta Argerich. Rossiniās overture from la gazza ladra Prokofievās dance of the knights from Romeo & Juliet Stravinskyās rite of spring Vladikir Ashkenazyās rendition of Chopinās 15th nocturne Iām also convinced that āSmile Sessionsā is the best pop album ever made. If anyone can provide any evidence to the contrary Iād be delighted. But in the meantime, Iāll continue listening to āThe Teenage Symphony to Godā front to back ad infinitum
Thereās nothing quite like falling asleep in the sun in 30 degree weather, one of lifeās greatest blessings. I love a little honk shoo to forget what I should be doing instead.
When looking up in a densely packed forest, i find there is so much beauty in the cracks where the sunlight escapes between a canopy of trees. Like maps of rivers, or veins in the arm, the space between has so much merit in its own and more, so many stories to tell. I love looking up! We should all make more of a habit of it! Wings of desire!
