It’s nothing elaborate. Honestly could be as simple as wake up exactly the same way everyday and make coffee (me) but it does just feel good to have a little window of time in your day where there is some semblance of order in this crazy ass world

what does it mean when theyre like “my day doesn’t start until I’ve made myself a cup of coffee and read the newspaper” I would like to find out

Turn off alarm, put on top 10, pee, go to kitchen, prep moka pot, wash dishes while coffee brews, finish dishes, grab mug, add oat milk to coffee, head to living room, open blinds/windows, drink coffee, sit in the sun, put mug in the sink, go to bathroom, brush teeth, morning skin care, deodorant, do hair, head to bedroom, put on lotion, get dressed, make bed, do makeup, wash hands, put on hand cream, check bus schedule, pack bag, head out.
Things are subject to change obvi, some mornings I’m hungry so I make and eat breakfast, some days I don’t wear makeup, some days I didn’t pick out my outfit the night before and have to take the time in the morning to figure out what I’ll wear. But for the most part, this is what my mornings look like.

Just a super simple morning routine. Mine is wake up, feed cats, read for 30 minutes, brush teeth, wash face, make bed, breakfast, get ready. Super simple but helps so so much. I feel so accomplished after reading like I just woke up and read and now my brain is super chill and ready to do the next thing. And since it’s not time based, it doesn’t matter if you wake up super late. When I wake up late and feel bad about it, I can still do my morning routine, so my day isn’t ruined. Reading also helps me stay off my phone in the morning which usually makes or breaks my morning. Just try out a very basic and easy routine and see how you feel. You’ll probably feel great and then keep doing it.
