I've been listening to a lot of djo!! End of beginning is one of my favourite songs ever (before it went viral ty) and he's finally touring (DJOURING) and I'm trying to get tickets for my city while battling Ticketmaster. His new single "basic being basic" is out and on repeat for me along with lots of his older hits like "chateau" "Roddy" and "flash mountain", the song I'm most excited to see live, and of course, end of beginning!

One of my all time favorite albums!!! So many cool sounds. So dynamic. My best friend and I had our own listening party when it dropped and it had us jumping up and down on my bed like kids. I love djo!!!!!

I discovered live DJ streams on Twitch about 18 months ago, while looking for live cameras to watch, and it's a daily thing for me now. Jon Gurd is in my top three of said streamers, he does breaks and progressive house (I think, genres elude me.) His originals, which he plays a few during his sets, are really hot, and his set lists are always tasty. Fascinating to me is that he and other really high-touch DJs never hit more than a couple hundred listeners concurrently, but that is another thing.

Being a DJ is one of the coolest things you can do in 2022. I’d like to live in a world where everyone DJs during lunch break, after work, before bed. The anime series “D4DJ: First Mix” is an idyllic example of such a place. When you meet someone new and you’re talking about music and you say “this one hits when I spin it at the club” or “I have a really cool remix of that on my USB”, your hotness increases so much. My first DJ set was in high school at Utopia Studios in St. Louis, Missouri and I played so much festival dubstep to a crowd of unknowing prep school kids. Since then it’s been much more of the same.

Literally wiredhead/earphones are kind of the most beautiful analogue technology still relevant and accessible available to us today. I personally have earphones and it brings me such joy to just take a second to untangle them before popping them in like I think it's important to wait a couple seconds before receiving exactly what you want, no? Also it just adds a certain materialness to the listening experience that's very satiating. Getting to press buttons for the volume that click, getting to hold the wire that delivers my music to me, getting to wrap it around my phone or crumple it in my hand when I'm done makes it feel like a part of the musical experience, ritualises my music time no matter where I'm doing it, on the bus, in the grocery store, or even my parents' basement. I just love my earphones and I think everyone should feel like this picture of Sonam Kapoor in Delhi 6 at least once to feel the magnitude and magnificence of being alive at least once.

I went to visit Pakistan to see some family and was wondering what I should get my favourite cousin. A couple months ago she mentioned that she's always wanted a watch bracelet but never bothered to get herself one, so when it was time to decide what to get her, I had the perfect idea already!!

I understand exactly what Joan didion was going through when she wrote that the only thing that gives her any peace in this chaotic unfeeling world is driving on the hot tarmac for hours on end with no one to disturb her.
