The hottest new trend this fall (and every season for forever) is adopting an animal from your local shelter. There’s nothing I recommend more than falling in love with a little sweetie and changing their life (and yours) for forever. The shelters in LA have been over capacity for months and months and it breaks my heart everyday. We all know the harm in adopting from a breeder or pet store AND THERE ARE SO MANY BABIES WAITING FOR A FOREVER HOME.  My daughter Bunny was a stray and now her only problem is trying to get me to go to bed when I want to stay up late (she likes to be under the covers by 9.)

So remember when everybody got puppies and kittens and whatever the fuck else during covid? Right, that happened, and it was great! Shelters were empty, homes were full of love. Then the world opened up and a lot of those folx went back to their jobs and decided that, while it was a cute instagrammable and tik tok moment for them, ultimately being a pet owner was so 2020 and just no longer their brand. So now, those animals are back in shelters, and shelters are full to the brim, you get it. Obviously don’t get an animal without thinking about the big picture of your life, it’s not for everybody nor is everybody in a place where they can take care for a furry friend. BUT if you can, do. It changed my life being a dog mom. Gives me purpose and a great excuse to leave parties and get out of bed in the morning.

I accidentally got two dogs (went to adopt one, ended up with two) a few months ago and my boyfriend stated up front that we will NOT be pet parents who buy their dogs clothes. Fast-forward one month and Nancy (one of our dogs) is wearing a fleece onesie that looks like assless chaps from Little Beast. So how did we get here? Little Beast isn’t your typical dog clothes company and my boyfriend agreed. The brand is sort of like if Entireworld made dog clothes—comfy, classic striped patterns, and a good selection of colors. Sold.

the truth of the matter is cats have always been better than dogs but moving to ny has made me dislike dogs as a whole. i still think theyre cute on an individual level and i like my friend's dogs, but not everyone needs a dog, especially since nobody wants to take responsibility for them. i feel like in other places (or at least in ct) there's a culture of shame around being an irresponsible dog owner. ive seen people get lambasted for having a poorly trained dog or for not picking up after them but it seems as though you cant do that here without being an evil bitch who hates animals. once i was sitting in the park and out of nowhere this huge dog knocked me over and started licking my face. i was totally skeeved out but the dog's owner was just like "sorry :P she's playful" like hello? what if i were crazy allergic or old as fuck? your irresponsibility could hurt someone! if you want a furry domestic terrorist, get a cat so it's your problem and not the world's.

I’ll never stop talking about how funny and amazing this movie is. The cast is INSANE and every single character I could watch for hours. So incredibly funny 10000000000000/10!

I absolutely adore the clothes from Fashion Brand Company. There’s a sense of humor about the pieces, while also somehow still being really sexy. Penelope Gazin is a genius funny chic artist, and every new thing she ever puts out I’m dying to wear. Fashion Brand Company 4ever!

Two of my best friends Paula Skaggs and Josh Linden wrote a book called Tiny Pep Talks, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. I knew I would love the book because Paula and Josh radiate positivity, light, and humor in ever way. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. The book is full of encouraging excerpts and motivation for things like going through a breakup or “for when you agreed to do something months ago and now it's time to actually do it.”  This book is INCREDIBLE, HILARIOUS, SWEET,  and cured my anxiety, which happens to be just what it's like being friends with Paula and Josh.
