I remember one where a gazelle got on this steep rock that a whole pack of wild dogs couldn’t get on without almost definitely falling right off. Most invested I’d been in a while.

I’ve had really impactful encounters with animals at significant moments of my life - a silver fox on the anniversary of my grandma’s passing (snapped a photo that I’ll attach), a death witch moth on my first trip home in many years, several snapping turtle hatchlings on a day that I had quit a job that was slowly killing me, a mountain lion during summer 2020 when multiply tragedies were happening at once. There are also animals that I see repeatedly on walks that have become meaningful symbols to me- herons, water snakes, hawks, and coyotes especially. I love animals, even the scary ones, and I’m a big believer that they have a lot to teach us

The Bronx zoo
I work in admin at the zoo and have learned an insane amount about the conservation work they’re doing around the world with critically endangered animals (critical as in there are literally two in existence critical). I’m here three days a week and you know I’m hanging with ChiChi the gibbon, penny and harry the African rhinos, and tunko the gorilla who waves at people

Honestly the coolest animal. The last time I saw one was at the Cape May Zoo last winter and it was super mesmerizing but honestly it was a little weird that they had them out in the cold
