looking up vintage/style name oftentimes pulls up overpriced resellers (LAME⊠end the depop industrial complex). but, if you look up the specific thing youâd like - e.g. âwool skirtâ - youâll likely find a lot more people listing that exact thing (including older more quality pieces) but with reasonable prices
(plus, it reduces overconsumption by making you think about if you actually need/want a specific thing or are just looking to buy random stuff)
Does your town have shit vintage? Overpriced and hard to find? I highly rate a quick browse through ebay. Especially for clothing. Bags can get a little exxy if you are looking for vintage designer but clothes can be found a plenty if you know what you're after. A simple search of 'vintage tartan checked kilt skirt' can return a wealth of options. Happy spending.
A fun game I like to play with myself is if I want to buy clothes, makeup, shoes, hair care, household items etc⊠I have to look it up on a resale site first where I will usually find it for cheaper and feel good about not contributing to a Bezos-centric society.
being traditionally cool is really quite boring and iterative, and itâs actually very cool and sexy to geek out about something you like or share bits of knowledge on a topic youâre passionate about
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WORKERâS DAY!!!! i love having a union, i love being a union steward and getting to support my unit. when my union won its contract, i got a pay bump, better benefits, and increased protection as a worker. đ„ł
unions help address racial and gender pay gaps, issues workplaces impose on families and those having kids, addressing unsafe conditions, plus things like better health insurance, wages and overtime, weingarten rights to representation, and more!!!
if you donât have a union but are thinking about forming one, check out AFL-CIOâs page (linked) or Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee. thereâs always more power in a union!! âđ„đč
