this album has been hitting recently, your classic indie band who seems to be genuinely having fun while making music? it feels like sunshine in the car while driving to me :)
I’ve been listening to this band on and off since finding them near the end of May, but everytime I come back I listen to at least an album in full. They sound like if a band with 90’s twee-pop lyrical prowess were dropped in the Brill Building and incorporated a surprising but welcomed dose of dub. RIYL: Beach Boys-style-orchestration worship, laying in the park and/or daydreaming about yr crush, music that lands in both easy- and active-listening camps comfortably.
loooooove the late 70s/80s influences on this album (i hear a lot of queen and maybe some paul mccartney), and it's just fuuuun indie/alt/kinda psych pop for the summer! also my mind is still blown that joe keery aka steve from stranger things has this 'side project' of being a frontman of a v cool band lol
maybe not radical honesty, but like.. just living. like, twirling strangers in the dance hall because it feels right and skipping down the grocery aisles and sitting down and writing for yourself in public and having fancy ginger beer for breakfast and talking unabashedly. yknow??? maybe this is common sense but i’ve found peace again
