very grateful these days to find myself in the position to put on shows for artists i look up to and get to know them (for the better or the worse). has been a chaotic year so far after joining this team but i wouldnt want to be doing it with any other people! heres a pic from our nighttttt
things were just starting to open up again after lockdown and this was the first show of samia’s first headlining tour. it was in the back of schubas in chicago and capacity was i think less than 200 people? everyone there was singing every word and it was just the most special show i’ve ever been to. she brought out briston maroney to sing backing vocals on a couple of songs and she cried when the audience knew the words.
i had just moved to chicago for college about a month before this after being at home my whole freshman year bc of covid, and my best friend who got me into samia’s music came into town for the weekend and we went to the show together. it was the most beautiful weekend ever. i love a small bar show anyway but this one will have my heart forever.
i’ve done this platonically and romantically recently. and both seem to be working out. i love talking on the phone. we should all talk on the phone more often
if you love a really famous musician or a major studio movie, you can probably find some bizarre promotional item on the internet. they’re often too rare to purchase. but i DID just order a set of madonna russian nesting dolls from the music era, so it can be done
