This is sooo sick I learned about Harry Partch from the Anaïs Nin documentary I posted about a week ago. I was interested because she said he made his own percussive instruments and what I heard in that documentary actually reminds me a lot of my dad’s music from his band in the 70s and 80s where he also played his own elaborate custom percussive instruments. it’s weirdly very similar should probably ask him about this… very strange eclectic music and you can tell he has a god-tier level of music theory comprehension. EXTREME OUTSIDER ARTIST VIBES LOL.

I love to share my things with the people I love. However, minimalist music can be a hard sell. This is unfairly due to the deceptive genre name, and fairly due to the repetitive nature of this genre.
The scope is intimidating— I listen to him mostly on airplanes or while I’m working. It’s worth giving this kind of music an honest shot.

My dad teases me about how when I was a little kid, my favorite thing to do when I was on the landline phone with somebody—be it a relative or one of my best friends—was to breathlessly describe the things that were in my bedroom so that they could have a mental picture of everything I loved and chose to surround myself with, and where I sat at that moment in time. Perfectly Imperfect reminds me of that so thanks for always listening and for sharing with me too 💌
