I’ve been experiencing some knee pain over the past week (and on and off for several years). I think it’s related to shoes I’m wearing and have plans to see a doctor but won’t be able to for a week or so. Any recommendations for strengthening exercises or other comforts?
Running! How it has a reputation for weakening knees is beyond me. As long as you have the correct shoes it will benefit your whole body.
Knee issues are also sometimes due to weak hips or ankles. Resistance band exercises are simple and great for strengthening up those parts of your leg.
I currently suffer from patellar tracking disorder, basically my knee cap doesn’t go up and down that bitch be turning to the right. The only way for me to fix this issue is to strengthen my quads cause apparently i have NO QUAD STRENGTH and that’s what’s causing my knee to be like “lol i’m free to go wherever the FUCK i want” anyway there’s some physical therapy exercises i can try and do but doing PT exercises are SO BORING and literally it feels like those exercises do NOTHING. Anyway yall i hope im able to be patient and dedicated to fixing my knee cause bruh i cant even wear baddie baddie heels without my knee hurting RIP
pray for me yall
I have a bunch of back problems and had a crisis where I couldn’t do anything but lay on the ground for 3-4 weeks without intense pain down to my toes on the left side. So if you have lower back pain-sciatica or related do the following every day:
Pelvic tilt exercise
Quadruped arm-leg raise
Side plank (easiest possible variation)
Leg lift (one at a time easiest variation)
And most important make sure whenever you’re sitting or standing you are engaging your core muscles (pretend someone is going to punch you in the stomach)
And walk a lot all the time
Basically you need to make sure your abs and back muscles are holding your body up and not your spine, and being in motion helps adjust the weight around instead of always settling on the same place and destroying your discs
PS: don’t stretch if you are actively in pain. you’ll probably stretch the wrong thing in the wrong direction. You want to avoid aggravating inflamed nerves so first thing you want to do is just stop the pain by not fucking with it. Then work on your strength.
Final note: this is for a specific back problem. If you have a different one the basic concept should work but the exercises might be different. But you should probably do all of the above anyway cause it’s good for you.
If not, look into it
If so, follow their instructions
Yoga moves that help me are cobra, cat and cow, but they might not be good for you
The other recommendations from a PT I saw were core strengthening exercises
One of my favorite weekend activities! Here’s this weeks haul. It reminds me of going to the video store as a kid and gives me shopping vibes and I have a whole weekend of entertainment and did spend a cent.
