i'm a reformed gamer, but i'm relapsing a bit with this purchase i want to unwind a bit at the end of the day by playing some random game with alex but also dont want all the gaming pc shit on my desk. this thing strikes a nice balance and i can still hook it up to my apple studio display if i want to go big screen mode
Steam Deck has been amazing for a similar mindset - I still have a goofy PC setup in the basement, but find myself gravitating towards it way less now that I can relax with the Deck on my couch or in bed
my monitor broke suddenly and i need every pixel i can get to make this site quickly …so i impulsively bought an Apple Monitor and it’s beautiful. i love it.
It’s one of the bulkiest things I’ve ever owned, and it doesn’t work properly anymore but the hardware is still good (And expensive). I’ve made the switch to Mac somewhat recently because my needs/uses have changed, and I gave up trying to upkeep my PC and diagnosing OS issues. I probably will get around to selling parts to some poor uni students who need it more than I do. My excuse is that I haven’t tried setting up a FB account for marketplace, and I forget because the PC sits in a spare room.
10+ year old apple monitors and my laptop, mostly used when producing otherwise i’m on the couch with just my laptop for most things I gotta do. the little table with the synths on the right is an old sewing machine table with wheels on it I got at an antique store for cheap, it has collapsable extensions on each side very helpful for decluttering my main desk space
tomorrow PI.FYI launches to the public this project is the result of thousands of hours spent coding everything from scratch after I got laid off six months ago no thiel-bucks or weirdo outsider money, just a pure desire to make something fun and true to Perfectly Imperfect’s day one goal of helping people find new things from real human beings, not algorithms or AI a pure labor of love that I’ve been quietly plotting for two years and it’s completely self-funded from my (rapidly) dwindling savings account so thank you for coming along for this weird ride 🫶 let's see where it goes
