First, it’s taking someone’s job away and saving some crappy corporation money
Second, you’re doing that job for free and your labor has value
Third, it’s another way human interaction is being removed from society in th name of efficiency (but mostly in the name of cost cutting)
If you’re going somewhere like Home Depot or Lowe’s that only has self checkout 🤬, order online for pick up instead. At least that requires paid labor, and you can say hi to a fellow human when you pick it up.
*Allowable exceptions include: when buying something really embarrassing, when you have an urgent need to use the bathroom, when stealing
