i have a lot of favorite movies but some arenāt like, the most⦠comforting? like for example, mysterious skin is one of my fav movies ever but for the sake of my mental health, it is not something i choose to watch often. the same goes for call me by your name, beautiful boy, bones and all, i believe in unicorns, fight club, etc. but my actual comfort movies areeeā¦š„š„š„š„š„ juno, nowhere, moonrise kingdom, water lillies, and somehow the saw franchise. iām not gonna go into too much detail cus im lazy but yeah if u like any of the movies i mentioned i bet ur super coolš
saw franchise as a comfort movie is so real. i also feel the same way about mysterious skin and tbh, a lot of gregg araki movies. theyāre amazing but i have a hard time rewatching them
@ELLI_FAYE you should check out āthis is how the world endsā, it was a tv pilot that araki made and a friend of my mumās worked on. i somehow now have one of the only merch pieces ever to have existed for this show that was never made (its a little beanie with the title on it). the soundtrack is a banger
i have quite a few but the two that came to me off the top of my head are coraline and being john malkovich lol i just love both those movies so much and they always help me feel at least somewhat better when i'm feeling down and i'd say people may consider them a bit weird :)
Idk the best movies bc idk anything but my favs are
-Fallen Angels (1995)
-Syndromes and a Century (2006)
-Goodbye, Dragon Inn (2003)
-Once Upon A Time... in Hollywood (2019)
Howlās Moving Castle (2004)
Little Women (2019)
Oceanās Eleven (2001)
Birds of Prey (2020)
The Princess Diaries (2001) (Also Iāve linked my comfort film list on letterboxd)
oh my goodness it was so great. i was like right at the front and it felt like rachel kept looking at me which was so surreal (i know she probably wasnāt but thatās okay) they played my fav song (crazy for you) and i was with my best friend, maya. 10/10 experience would most definitely do it again
