i have a really bad habit of not saving the first&last name in my contacts for someone, and finding them later is a huge pain in the ass

almost everyone’s last name is the context that I know them eg. places I’ve worked, caregiver groups I’m a part of, past college classes shared. Honestly a lot of the ones I have just first and last name I have completely forgotten who they are.

I do this too and I hate it so much almost everybody in my text messages is just some random number and it gets really embarrassing when people text me and I have literally no idea who they are 🤦‍♀️

I have a really bad memory unless I’ve known someone for YEARS. So for any new friends or new people in my life I really care about, I’ll write down anything that grabs my attention How they take their coffee, favorite band, allergies, etc.

A NOTIFICATION REMINDER TO LOOK AT YOUR SAVED
@TYLER random idea alert! could be cool to get a notification like once a month or something to say like hey you have these things saved, go check them out! and then when you open the notification it takes you directly to your saved folder so you don’t get distracted by feeds/homepage. i’m that person that saves everything and then never goes back to look 😭 i should go look right now….. but i wont 🥴

writing down funny shit your friends say or do
I feel like a lot of the time me and my friends never remember what someone said, just how hard it made us laugh. So if it’s REALLY funny, I’ll quote them in my notes. So whenever someone says, “do you remember when ____ said/did this” I’ll search their name and find it, instead of us blanking for 10 minutes. Pros: It makes me feel like a friendship historian. it’s definitely improved my memory/recall ability. and it also feels good to remind them that I care about the things that they say.
