The Eurovelo routes through France are pretty cool and French campsites are cheap. I did EV3 (I think) last summer and it was a really cool mix of cyclepath and canal path. Camped every night at a 5-10 euro sites, usually by the Loire. It was dope.
Nice, France and the surrounding small villages are super pretty. It can get a little touristy, but the locals are generally really friendly for France. Super cool markets and beaches.
