never thought I’d get into birdwatching but my friend wouldn’t stop identifying birds when we hung out, so now I’m into it too. 2 love/be loved is 2 be changed…..
one of my favorite things is when a friend sees an interesting bird and sends me a pic so i can identify them its fun to test my ID skills but also it rlly means a lot to me that my friends think of me when they see birds (to be known is to be loved etc etc etc) look at this broad billed motmot my friend saw in Costa Rica :) beautiful
Posted on Lex a few years ago seeking people to join me in a hobby I didn’t currently do, but assumed other gays were into. Post was something along the line of “I have binoculars, a book, a dead birb tattoo, and no idea what the fuck I’m doing: who’s in?” And it turns out my now-gf was in and does know a ton about birds.
I feel like birding is becoming popular with a younger subset and for me it’s about connecting with what’s around me and being delighted by simple, practical knowledge. my goal right now is to figure out which ones are serenading me when I go to work each morning! pictured are Eurasian collared doves I identified the other day 🐦
