wayne shorter is such a creative saxophonist and for this album recorded in 1974 he got together this jazz fusion sound taking inspiration from music from all over the world. really a joyful album i love it morning and night. if you’re looking for something more traditional, ”now is the hour” by charlie haden’s quartet west is wonderful. recorded in 1994, it’s classic and romantic capital J Jazz. quality without being corny.
