Bought the vinyl set when it released back in 2021 because I knew the songs wouldn’t be available on Spotify, and because I love this show oh so much.
This soundtrack has got Sunset Rollercoaster, mitsume, The Natsuyasumi Band, toe. I mean can you believe they got toe to do an anime soundtrack??? ITS STACKED with some of my favourite j-indie/mathrock bands.

the silent hill soundtrack is bomb, the slitterhead soundtrack is even more bomb (both made by akira yamaoka my beloved) they lean towards rock a little more tho so they'd be perfect if that's smth u can focus through :) i also like snoopy jazz when i'm in the mood for smth more lighthearted, or the soundtrack from neo the world ends with you bc it's so goofy (in the early 2000's americanized japanese hiphop genre) and the lyrics never fail to make me laugh (good thing to uplift u through studying)

listening to a movie soundtrack on vinyl is so sick because all of the intentionality of putting a record on, playing it, flipping it, etc. in tandem with the intentional composition of a movie soundtrack for certain scenes and the arc of the film in general makes you feel like you're in a movie for the run of the record. my personal favorites:
- shaft (isaac hayes, 1971)
- superfly (curtis mayfield, 1972)
- the social network (trent reznor + atticus ross, 2010 – they also did the challengers soundtrack!)
bonus: if your life is a movie (fr) i think getting past the "poser" anxiety and just buying your favorite albums on vinyl and listening to them as the soundtrack for your life brings the same vibe. for me:
- time traveler + wagenmuzik (gum.mp3)
- room 25 + telefone (noname)
- ctrl (sza)
- starboy (the weeknd)
- the misseducation of lauryn hill (lauryn hill)
- what's goin' on (marvin gaye)
- channel orange (frank ocean)
