As someone who grew up watching films with happy endings, I expected my life to have one as well. But it just doesn't work that way and I'm slowly learning how to sit with that uncertainty. Life really isn't so black and white.

I always loved philosophy in school, it’s been one of my favorite subjects to study. And with it, I feel there is so much value in the uncertainty that it often provides. while it was at first frustrating not being able to come to a concrete answer, I’ve learned that’s what makes it so important to the human experience. The person that has no tincture of their own philosophy is imprisoned by the prejudices they derive from common sense, habitual beliefs of their age or their nation. To truly open yourself to the world, and to truly take control of your mind, you cannot let those convictions grow in your mind without any co-operation or consent of your own deliberate belief. Uncertainty is inevitable in this world, and that’s ok. At a time where everything seems to be so absolute, be uncertain in your beliefs or ideas, it’s a great step to growth.

i know its mind blowing. but we need to accept the complexities of life. you can not think in a binary yes or no black and white fashion. you will never find perfection, things can be super awesome and also suck a bit. someone can make you insanely happy and also sad. you can hurt someone and they can hurt you too. when you learn to sit in the discomfort of the inbetween you can actually look at the issues that surround you and all their layers and nuances and perhaps.. even begin to work through them. sometimes you're over something yet it stings u every day. many contradictory things can be true at once!!!

sometimes you don't realize how much old comforts are suffocating your ability to grow until you're thrust into a situation that forces you to completely rethink and alter that behaviour. it's never an easy process, but if there's one thing i've learnt about dealing with big life changes, is to work with and embrace the shifts rather than repelling them and creating more friction in an effort to avoid the inevitable.

junk journaling! it’s almost like your own personal zine where you can dump all your memories. it’s pretty low effort and you can use anything and everything you have on hand :)
