It really depends on what you want to write about, but I always write as if someone was to read it in many years and would be interested in what I did, like I also am interested in how the life of my great-grandpa was. If I want to add a lot of details, I do it. If I only want to write a brief description of something, I do that. It really depends on what I want to communicate. You can also go really in-depth on a specific feeling if you want to. Maybe think about how you would read your diary if you were a 100+ year younger version of yourself. Or if you write it for future-you, think what you would like to know. Etc.

personally i write when i feel a Big Emotion or i think i’ve reached an epiphany on something. i write on scrap paper, in my journal or in my notes app. i used to write movie reviews for my uni’s magazine but my workload got too hectic. i also write for the performance of having written something sometimes you know. i used to do more god awful poetry when i was younger but currently in my free thought prose bag. i share my writing with my friends mostly. i’ve got a substack but just never posted on there. most importantly for me anyways i write so in a couple months i can look back amused at what i had going on. also want to try and write from a non personal standpoint. but hope this was helpful!!

Write your diary as if it were the biography of an icon. Detailing every single thing possible, even without checking for grammar mistakes, just let it go, stick to the emotion and let the pen almost write on its own.

if don’t know what to write I will just locate myself with extreme specificity and then describe my bodily and emotional sensations. usually that is enough to get me going I journal once a week for a specific purpose and have that as part of my routine/to-do list for that day. i highly recommend journaling by hand and with a really good pen

I‘ve always felt passionate about breathing and for the last couple of days (currently 7) I‘ve done it all the time. Literally every few seconds. Please don‘t come at me with addiction or whatever, I like it and I don‘t think it has gotten out of hand yet. Sure, I also do it in my sleep, non-stop, but I‘m sure it‘s fine. It just rejuvenates me. Anyone else having a streak right now? Or maybe someone who doesn’t breath? Tell me your experience with it.

If someone has a mustache, I immediately think of them higher as if they wouldn’t have one. Bad people can of course have a mustache as well, and if it turns out a bad person holds a faithful mustache, I immediately think of them even lower, simply because now they also harm all mustache-wearers with their actions. You guys don‘t know how much I enjoy a proper mustache. And if you’re old and already have white hair, then a mustache is truly even more magnificent. Man I like a good mustache! I especially like mustaches with no other facial hair besides it, or maybe a tiny bit. Nothing that could be classified as a beard besides the mustache though. And do NOT swirl the edges into circles, I hate that. Do however keep the edges long and sharp, I enjoy that. Kind of like „von Mackensen“ did. He had one of the greatest mustaches and I aspire to look similar one day.

What y’all know bout the hard cider challenge? In this challenge you will be subsidizing all your liquids with hard cider for a day. You start in the morning with hard cider about 2% abv, and as the day progresses you switch at noon to hard cider with about 5% abv. Like this and I shall try the challenge and report back to you. You can try it as well. Bonus points if you do it on a work or uni day.
