the missing piece by shel silverstein
what a wonderful book! i re read this despite it being a childrens book and it was so fun. i feel like it gets outshined by The Giving Tree quite alot but i remember adoring The Missing Piece as a child and i think it teaches such a great lesson. so sweet.

this book made me cry. just read it its so worth it honorable mention: the perks of being a wallflower. i need to find my copy and reread it. it makes me feel like myself.

cannery row by john Steinbeck
this is my favorite novel and makes me feel all warm inside. i love how bittersweet it is in its portrayal of fuckups and forgiveness and trust in others and changing as a person but not as much as youd like to. profoundly human and beautiful.
