Put each purchase into a category and you can see where you’re overspending.
To spend less, try to replace paying people to do things that you can do for yourself. Cook at home, make coffee, iron your clothes, invite friends over instead of going out.
Then, let’s say you make dinner instead of spending money going out. Now pay yourself for that work! Did you save £10 by cooking for yourself? Put £10 into savings.
Try to notice the growth in your savings, too. I think it can be motivating to watch the number go up each month.
