Made a Kung Pao cauliflower recipe from Meera Soda’s cookbook and it was tangy, spicy and sweet. I also had a good twenty minutes where the cauliflower was in the oven and it gave me time to clean the gunge around the sink. Meera Soda didn’t specifically reference gunge cleaning.
with a wet of eggs (or corn starch and water for vegans) and a dry batter of flower, a bit of baking soda, and spices of garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Don't even bother coating every piece, just mix the wet with the cauliflower until evenly coated and then slowly mix in the dry until well mixed. Baked at 425 until golden. served with any sauce, but I like hot sauce.
I'm not a stellar cook, but I slap that shit together so fast and it is so satisfying. I've been baking kale with sesame oil instead of cavolo nero because I was unwilling to google what it is or where to acquire it.
Boil Napa cabbage in water for 30 mins. Add some mushrooms or other veggies. Last minute when you’re ready, drop in thin sliced beef or tofu and eat.
My current meal fixation.
I used to hate baked beans with such a fury it was a genuine phobia. Now I have them most weekends for breakfast and I feel weirdly proud of myself for getting over that fear. It’s good to know how much we can change.
