well, i'm just a sucker for synthwave, and very, very, much enjoy this new release from tom. <3 goes well with browsing are.na late at night when you should really go to bed.
A masterpiece all together - the album.
My fave track: New Machines
"This just makes me feel floating with oxygen in space"
"this song gives me 2 emotions that don't even exist"
"This make me happy and sad at same time" Randy Goffe, known professionally as HOME, is a Synthwave/Chillwave music producer from Punta Gorda, Florida, USA who now lives in Chicago.[1] HOME's music is influenced by 70's and 80's music, layered with a bit of Chiptune and Chillsynth. a mixtape i made last year. i don't usually listen to my own music but this was the first time i felt i truly made something that was not only special to me, but something i was proud enough to revisit and not pick apart all of it's flaws. these songs mean the world to me, and i hope others will find the same comfort i receive while listening them! for fans of: animal collective, modest mouse, radiohead, joanna newsom, björk, daft punk, car seat headrest, lil ugly mane and beck.
okay, you don't have to be rude about it. but you can actually say to objects, "hey, object, you're another kind of object now." when reading before bed last night, i couldn't remember where my bookmark was. so i just threw out my arm into space, let my hand find... something. a drink coaster. and—yeah. i just threw it in there. in the book. and it worked! (at least, i think it did. i haven't tried reading again today.)
it's so good. i've done it since i was a kid. have you ever tried it? nighttime is the best, here's how i do it: 1. i walk into a room with a heavy, cozy, persian carpet on the floor. (in my apartment, there's only one such room.)
2. i lie down (on the floor).
3. i listen to music. it's pretty easy, really. try it! i've attached a screen grab where you can see how it's done. that's hirayama from perfect days (great film). here are three tracks for nighty night-time listening in no particular order. • when u sleep
• you have telescoping arms and fingers (but I still love yooou!)
• et bånd
»in an effort to combat overpopulation, the postmortem social network 'anvil' is released.« okay obviously, i don't rec or look forward to a social network like that. it sounds fucking horrible. but, but, but—the music video is dark and disturbing and absolutely beautiful. and the track slaps, too. just drove a friend home, and after dropping her off, i queued this one up and slowly drove back through the night on almost-empty streets.
