put flowers on your desk, get a candy jar for your office, put a photo in your locker. if you have to be there for 8 hours a day, why not make it feel a little more like home?
@TATERHOLE so far, I am LOVING it, granted, it’s only day two. But, I feel like I’m finally using my skillset to do something meaningful! Plus, my coworkers all seem great upon first impression.
If you have an office or go to an office, bring a little coloring book and put it in the employee lounge. I love just sitting in between meetings coloring a little picture
If you can, it's just a job. They don't care about you so you shouldn't care so much about them. If you can find mental space to let your mind wander, take notes for ideas you want to do or even sneak in equipment or a sketchbook for doodling. This obviously doesn't work for all types of jobs, especially if it includes manual labor or any type of person-to-person care. Work isn't family. Sneak in time for yourself.
