a family friend of mine does woodworking and has given us a couple of repurposed pianos! the body of a beautiful wooden grand is a bookshelf upstairs, and my desk used to be an upright. adds a lot of character to a space and works as a great conversation piece, plus it saves old furniture from landfills
I just made it impossible for me to watch TV from bed and I'm sure my new arrangement isn't the best for feng shui or what have you (bed against a window and within view of the front door, couch not against a wall, etc) but I think I'll like it better this way! I also like creating a new era of sorts in my place--two places ago I was in a smaller studio, and I can separate my time there into distinct eras based on what I was doing with my furniture and how I was trying to make that space work for me lol
i was running out of space under my sink and wanted to display some of my bathroom stuff so i measured it out, got some wood, some paint, and got it done. feels very rewarding now that i finished it (please ignore the landlord special paintjob and popcorn ceiling i am a member of the renter class)
I’ve been junk journaling and sketching consistently for about 6 years and it’s genuinely saved my life!! I don’t go anywhere without a journal and some colored pencils - I think I reach for it more than my phone.
