Today I read two complementary articles about the same topic that stopped me in my tracks after a very creatively frustrating day. Maybe, if you are feeling like your effort isn't working in some aspect of life right now, they will help you as much as they helped me :) Wu-Wei | The Art of Letting Things Happen - Einzelganger The Art of Letting Things Be - Ning Collective

"if it was something you truly wanted, you would find a way to do it even in less than ideal situations." "just do it unprepared. Just do it scared. Just do it even if you think you’re not cut out for it." even though the post i just made may feel directly opposite to this, this is so complimentary to what was going through my mind, loved this.

@THRIFTWEASEL totally agree with your post too tho. It's the balance i guess - trying is cool and worthwhile until you reach a critical mass of trying burnout, and then easing up for a second and letting things unfold could actually maybe ultimately get you where ur trying to go... the eternal creative balance one may say 🙏⚖️

i dont know if this will be helpful. Or confusing. But when i experience writers block i like to live with it (?) i think that its natural and you have to ride the wave. i think art comes to you. Not the other way around. Yes it is fun to create. but inspiration must naturally strike I would get an ounce of an idea and i would push it and stress over completing it. And then get so frustrated And then its not fun anymore. but now when i get an idea i transfer it to a physical medium and once i get stuck, i leave it alone. Until it comes back to me again. Or not at all. And that’s ok too. Not everything has to be completed Keeping creative endeavors in the back of your mind can let them marinate and get nice and lovely. easier said than done but try not to get discouraged that you’re not writing right now. There is some kind of beauty in its absence

I bought a book a while ago that I was really interested in, but when I sat down to read it, just wasn't feeling it. Instead of getting frustrated, I listened to the feeling, put the book back on my bookshelf and said to myself I'll pick it up when the time is right. Cut to a few months later and I'm writing a script about dreams. I look at my bookshelf, wanting to read something knew, but not knowing what. And there it is, crammed way in there: the book. I pick it up. Lo and behold, the first story is a story all about dreams - a story that inspires and fuels me in my own writing. Basically, what this taught me is to trust the process. Being open means that it will all happen when it's supposed to. You've just gotta let it in.

Here to Rec this again, or The Right to Write also by Julia Cameron. It doesn’t necessarily help with line actual writing tips, but I found it helped my writing and creative practice in general by beginning to consider my entire life as a whole as part of it. What we write comes from how we live, what we see, how we think. And this helped me with that! It comes in from an “Artist’s block“ perspective, and I was worried it wouldn’t work because I wasn’t at all blocked, but I still found it really useful and interesting to discover the ways that maybe I was blocked and hadnt realised. It’s also just a really good tool to ensure commitment to craft, which i think is the hardest and most important thing in creating. If you do it a lot, consistently, you will improve, always.

i think it's fitting that my first post on here is dedicated to adding my love for the Chicken Caesar Wrap to my digital footprint Tried the Frank's Deli CCW after long hearing of its hype from the internet. First of all, i didn't realize this was Frank's deli as in, deli offshoot from THE Farmer Frank -- and while Farmer Franks is one of the most slept on diners, my expectations were a bit high for the infamous parm crusted chicken caesar wrap. 7.5/10, yummy chicken & seasoning, needed more romaine and a little more structural integrity. But I could never turn on a CCW, still loved it Think i still prefer Honest Johns tho ultimately Thank you n happy friday
