being seen and appreciated for who i am rather than being kept around out of convenience has truly been one of the most life changing things for me recently. i now have the confidence to use my discernment and make decisions about what is unnecessary and unwanted in my life.

I was sitting in Washington Square Park a few evenings ago when I saw young people visibly dressed in clothes from my cultural/religious community. I started googling centers in the area and realised they must be going to the only one close by on the map. I signed up for an event and I went there today!
I left crying crocodile tears…
It was the first time I ever felt really seen and understood by this community that I’ve been struggling to fit into my whole life. The first time I didn’t feel judged for all parts of myself, parts that I usually hide.
anyways, if I wasnt people watching in the park and if I didn’t let my people watching curiosity lead me to where I went, I wouldn’t have felt this incredible grateful joy I feel today!
