you could live your whole life in tokyo and still not see it all. it's a bit like the golden gate bridge. by the time you're done, you need to start over. but if you go see the rest of the country. wow. this photo is from fukuoka. it's in the west of japan. highly recommended. all of the neighbourhoods are connected so you don't get those boring parts in between districts where nothing is happening. it makes the city feel much bigger than it is. full of life. go west.

I'd pick a smaller city closer to nature and the country. There's a lot of great options that are only a couple hour train ride away from Tokyo, if/when I wanted to explore. New Zealand is also a no-brainer. And Norther Thailand is always on the mind.

this is something i should do much more of. every time i visit another city i scope out the best spots, hit all the sights, and pack in my days with fresh experiences. once u live somewhere for a while u just kinda stop being excited and fall into a routine. there are still so many things i haven’t seen in nyc, and probably will never see, because 90% of my time is spent in my own neighborhood. be a tourist in your own city

sometimes you have to reach your goals twice in order to actually achieve them the first time is for the experience the second time is to feel you deserved them and to avoid any ideas that it was just luck before

don't overwork yourself. you will forget most of what your salary is spent on. do what you need to get by. do what you love. do not exhaust your energy for the profit of someone else. this is all temporary.
