they’re a cute decoration showing the tapestry of your life and they’re fun to get out once in a while or travel with if they’re portable
And most of them come with easy software mods so you can do random shit w/ them
Also ps2 doubles as a DVD player, so that gets 1000000000 points right there

My older brother got one for Christmas decades ago now and I used to watch him play Madden and crap like that until I got old enough for him to trust me to not break his controllers. Now that we’re adults, we barely play on it together anymore, but we never threw it out. When we come home for Christmas, we play Disney’s Extreme Skate Adventure and it is always just as fun as it was in the early 2000s.
