Maybe a creative hobby that requires patience & delicate precision, which is easy to get started with but has a very high ceiling for getting better, is what I need to help fix my heart and soul I bought this patch from an artist at a vintage fair over the weekend & I have another one from them I wanna put somewhere. I am practicing bc I have a twin peaks patch i wanna put on my trench coat so its clear that I'm cosplaying Dale Cooper and not Castiel

i love collecting cool screenprinted patches or embroidered badges from art markets or online shops and sprucing up any item i own with them! or you can use scraps from clothes you’ve cut up previously if you wanna upcycle and not throw waste away. it’s like a sticker in cloth form, and i can customize my belongings and give it my personality :D just take a needle and thread, and learn some basic backstitches or zigzag stitches, and handsew on some cool looking squares! you can take this project wherever you go, and it’s good to put on music or a movie and zone out ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I’ve been really into decorative mending this year and I’m trying to learn how to repair more of my clothes rather than buying replacements. My thusband got me a handheld darning loom. I’m going to get some thread and try patching up a shirt tomorrow.
Have never learned and the initial learning of the basics is seeming scary 🤒 but I keep seeing things and thinking that as an unemployed student I rly need to be making not buying things. also fun and customisable! The seamstresses in my life have so much fun 🤩
